14.5 Next steps

This chapter provided a basic overview of why to use mixed models, how to analyze them, and how to use predictions and plots to determine what the results mean. These models are a potentially powerful tool that arguably are still under-utilized in biology and ecology. To crank up the power even more, we will generalize these models to include tools like logistic regression and count models in Chapter 15.
